The scientific journal Advancing surgical standards of the RCS, published a new clinical study carried out at St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey, UK.
The purpose of the study is the effect of sterile versus non-sterile tourniquets on microbiological colonization of the lower extremities during surgical operations.
Research cites the advantages of sterile single-use tourniquet in the operating theater and warns pneumatic tourniquet users of the danger of infections, when using a non-sterile tourniquet. Read more about the research here.
